Interview by Mauricio Saravia

ARTIST INTERVIEWS: Kim, can you tell us how you begin your career as a model?

Kimberly Fisher: I actually started doing beauty pageants when I was about 14. I started with scholarship pageants, then moved on to beauty pageants, then swim wear competitions. From that I booked a lot of swimsuit work, which lead to more mainstream connections. I've also recently started acting.

A.I.: I wanted to ask you about your photo sessions. What are the feelings that inspire your when you are modeling?

K.F.: It depends on what kind of look I'm trying to convey...it's easy to think about whatever it is and just go with it. I look to be totally relaxed and keep the atmosphere fun, so everyone is enjoying themselves.

A.I.: As a model, you have won several titles. Do you have any anecdotes from the pageants, that you would like to share with us?

K.F.: You can't win everything. If for some reason you didn't win or place, it's not because your not good enough or not pretty enough, it just wasn't your time. If it had been another moment or another day, or another set of judges, or anything... Things might have been different.

Treat everything as a learning experience and remember that it's not the end of the journey that counts, it's how you get there.

A.I.: You have been in a lot of music videos, including Depeche Mode's "I Feel Loved", Roni Size Reprazent, Nsync, No Authority, Destiny's Child. Can you tell us about your experience with modeling and acting in videos?

K.F.: Videos are long, hard work days, but it pays off when you see the final product. There is so much work and talent that goes into them, from the artists to the directors, sets, wardrobe, hair, and makeup.

A.I.: Speaking about music, You like The Crystal Method. Which other groups electronic and dance groups do listen to?

K.F.:(Laughs). I like a lot of different music. The Crystal Method is definitely one of my favorites (I could listen to them forever) but I've also taken a liking to hip-hop, R&B, and some pop. For dance music, I'm really into Kylie Minoge and Jennifer Lopez at the moment.

A.I.: You have also acted in several movies. What's the role that has been the most rewarding for you, Kim?

K.F.: I'm doing an independent feature called "Messed in the Head" where I play a hard, tough lesbian that falls in love with a very femine guy...it's great because you get to see my character develop and change throughout the whole movie. The whole cast is awesome and I enjoy doing what I love to do! I also have another film in January called "The Lost Girls" which is a horror movie.

A.I.: What are some of your future projects that you would like to realize?

K.F.: I'm working to build www.kimberlyfisher.com to a great site that pretty much maintains itself. I 've been shooting exclusive photosets across the world for it; Bahamas, Malibu, Hawaii...etc. I will continue working on my acting and modeling until I land that series regular role. (Smiles).

A.I.: What's a day in the life of Kim Fisher?

K.F.: Depending on where I am and what I am working on...it really varies. If I'm in town, I usually wake up around 9 or 10, check email w/ a quick breakfast, return phone calls, check in w/ agents, go to auditions, run errands, go to the gym. If I'm working on a project, it's a whole other story.

A.I.: Thank you very much, Kim!
