Ice Cube was patiently and friendly talking to everybody, while dozens of cameras flashed around him. He took the time to talk with the press and his friends and was very warm. He thanked the audience and gave them the rapper hand signal. Behind him, looming in the stage was a plastic sculpture, a representation of Ice Cube's hand signal.
You could feel the emotion and the deep respect among the guests, while the songs from the new album played over the venue. His music created excitement and mesmerized everyone in the venue. The songs sounded loud in the air with the overwhelming strength and power of his voice. He is the voice of his community and he sings the message of millions who cannot sing. The Multi-Platinum Award Winning rap and hip-hop superstar made his return to the microphone with the debut of his seventh solo LP. The singing was powerful and the production of the tracks also stood out. The songs had layers of sounds and the beats were very inviting. The West Coast’s greatest rap lyrist is back again, bringing his best musical work to date: “Laugh Now, Cry Later,” which will be released by Ice Cube’s independently owned label, Lench Mob Records, this year on June 6.
As an actor, Ice Cube has worked in xXx: State of the Union, Are We There Yet, Barbershop I & II, All About the Benjamings, Ghosts of Mars, Three Kings, Anacondo, Dangerous Ground and Boyz in the Hood. He is currently working on 3 more movies: The Extractors (2006), Teacher of the Year (2006) and Are We Done Yet? (2007).
